How It works?

Each project takes roughly 8 months to complete. Once we receive all the starter chapter submissions, we will select the best, which will then be voted on by the writers who have signed up to take part.

Each novel has approximately 34 chapters. Depending on how many writers sign up, we will allocate 1, 2 or 3 chapters to each writer. Every chapter will have 3/4 writers attempting the next part of the story. One will be chosen by the story coordinator, that fits best with the flow of the novel.

Minor edits will be made throughout the process to ensure the integrity of the story. Any major edits will be done in consultation with the original writer. You will have a 33% chance of having your submitted chapter chosen. Very good odds for becoming part of a published novel.

Each week the allocated writers receive the previous chapter, character notes, and chapter summaries. This is all done by the story coordinator. The writers will then have 5 days to submit their effort of roughly 2500 words.

The last chapter will be open to everyone who has had a chapter selected throughout the story. The finished novel will receive a consistency edit by the story coordinator, and then a final edit by a professional editor, before being formatted and published.

Time permitting, the writers will also get to vote on their favourite cover art for the novel.

CWC is a wonderful community of writers, that offers encouragement and support along the way. The experience is a very unique challenge that forces you out of your comfort zone, and is often very useful to anyone feeling stagnant and blocked.

We look forward to working with you!
